Have your work analyzed
Due to demand, ScriptBoulevard now offers a number of script analysis services to improve your chances of selling your work.
Your work will be analyzed by seasoned professionals who have sold numerous screenplays or projects.
Note that you don’t have to be a member of ScriptBoulevard to benefit from these services. Anyone may apply.
Our range of services includes:
Treatment analysis + a rewrite of your pitch
A treatment is a detailed outline of your story, complete with plot, main characters, twists and an ending. It is double-spaced and shouldn’t exceed 25 pages. Before writing a script, many writers write a treatment or a synopsis to determine if their project is viable or will attract interest.
A pitch, or logline, is a very brief summary of your story (usually two or three sentences). It should have the following ingredients: a beginning, middle and an end, a clear statement of conflict (a story must always have conflict), including good guys, bad guys, goals pursued, obstacles to overcome and a resolution. A pitch is NOT a teaser.
We will analyze your treatment and give you valuable advice to help you write the best possible script. We will tell you what direction you should take and what pitfalls you should avoid. In other words, we will help you get your story right.
As a bonus, we will rewrite your pitch (logline).
Our turnaround for this service is 7 working days.
Script Analysis
A full script analysis is a complete report on presentation, story concept, structure, character development and dialogue. We will tell you what works and what doesn’t. Our criticism will always be constructive. We will help you deliver a script that is professional and easy to read. And finally, we will grade your script from one to ten. If we feel that your script has a very good chance of attracting interest from potential buyers, we will add a “recommended” tag to it if you put it on line with ScriptBoulevard.
Our turnaround for this service is 14 working days.
Script Editing/Rewrite
Maybe you feel your script needs improvement, or maybe you just want a professional writer with a fresh new viewpoint to give your screenplay a complete overhaul. No problem. We can do that.
There are two steps involved:
1) First, we’ll do a full script analysis as above and send it back to you. The report will tell you whether or not your script, as it is, warrants a rewrite. Sometimes, a script isn’t good enough to warrant a rewrite. If this is the case, our report will advise you to first address all the major problems and solve them. There is no point in editing or rewriting a script that won’t cut it.
2) If, after our script analysis, we find that the structure, characters, theme and dialogue are okay but could be improved, we will edit or rewrite your script. We will inform you of what we think needs to be corrected and only do it once you give us your go-ahead.
Important: A script rewritten or edited by ScriptBoulevard will have a “recommended” tag if you put it on line with us.
Our turnaround for this service may vary, depending on the amount of work required to edit/rewrite your script. It won’t exceed 40 working days.
Book Analysis
Maybe you think your book or manuscript would make a good movie? Send it to us and we will do the following:
1) Write a full report as to whether or not your book is a movie, based on storyline, characters, theme, structure and dialogue.
2) Write a pitch (logline) and a three-page synopsis if your book is movie material.
Our turnaround for this service is 21 working days.
TV Series Analysis
A TV series analysis is a full report on concept, characters, originality, continuity and viability. Ideally, your project should include a pitch (logline), a description of concept and theme, a description of the main characters (what makes them tick, etc), a fully scripted pilot episode and a synopsis for each of the first six episodes. TV series are much more complex to develop than a feature film. We will help you present all aspects of your TV project professionally.
Animated projects should include sketches or drawings of the main characters. It’s not mandatory but it’s a definite plus. Just make sure the drawings don’t look amateurish.
Our turnaround for this service is 21 working days.
Formats
We accept the following formats: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Rich Text (.rtf), Plain Text (.txt) and Final Draft (.fdr).
